Profile: Amanda Borg is an M.A. graduate in Economics and holds a B.Com (Hons) in Economics from the University of Malta. Her main field of research is social investment, specializing in the areas of education, labour market, pensions and health policy. Ms. Borg is a part-time assistant lecturer at the University of Malta. Her main teaching areas include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Trade and the Economics of Social Policy.
She was previously employed as Commission Officer at the National Commission for Higher Education and as Research Officer at the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development working on social welfare policies. She was also engaged as a lecturer at the Staff Development Organization within the Office of the Prime Minister and has served as Board Member on the MQRIC Appeals Board and the Board of Governors of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs .
Ms. Borg is involved in a number of consultancy projects within her field of specialization with E-Cubed Consultants Ltd. Projects include in-depth research, drafting of documents on the subject of economic policy, cost benefit analysis as well as participation in training events.
